Wai-Yung Lee Honored with the 2025 AAMFT Visionary Impact Award

Our Founding Clinical Director, Dr. Wai-Yung Lee has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious 2025 Visionary Impact Award by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

The award celebrates three globally influential women pioneers in systemic family therapy. Dr. Lee is honored alongside Dr. Celia Falicov and Dr. Judith Landau, recognizing outstanding female leadership in the field.

Dr. Lee’s pioneering contributions include developing culturally sensitive family therapy approaches, especially for Asian and cross-cultural contexts. As Founding President of the Asian Academy of Family Therapy, Clinical Director of the Aitia Family Institute in Shanghai, and longtime collaborator with Salvador Minuchin, her innovative work has inspired therapists worldwide.

This recognition highlights growing Asian representation and diversity in global family therapy, affirming the power of inclusive systemic perspectives in mental health and relational healing.

Warm congratulations to Dr. Lee and her fellow honorees on this well-deserved honor! We are deeply proud of her remarkable legacy.
